Survive the first nights, then pick a fight

Answers stop at where you are, in every room.

A first-nights checklist: box, furnace, rooms, then the doors under you. Map and fishing are FYI.

Where you are

Each room remembers its own place. Moving here does not touch the others.

Night one

Build a box before dark

Day one you spawn in the forest with a copper pick, a copper axe, and a copper shortsword. The Guide is already there. Sunset is the clock. The collected Getting started page treats this morning as wood, a work bench, and a closed room — not a cave. 1. Chop the trees next to you. Craft a work bench from wood and stand beside it. That station unlocks the rest of the morning. 2. Gel from a slime plus wood makes torches. The work bench also makes walls, a chair, a door, and a wooden sword if you want one tonight. 3. Build a closed box near spawn: a frame with no gaps, background walls you crafted (dirt walls do not count), a torch, and a door. The housing menu will tell you if the room is suitable. This room will not invent a tile size — verify-in-run with that query. 4. If dark arrives first, a hole you can close still beats the open grass. Finish the box in the morning. You can decorate later. You cannot un-die the first evening. The Guide wants a house too. Talk to him if you forget a recipe. A work bench next to the bed you will craft later is already a town.

Heads up. Most people spend the first day strip-mining or exploring and then die in the open at 7:30pm.

The ask box follows you between rooms. Hit a wall on the farm, ask. Hit one on a romance path, ask. Same conversation.
